Medical episode suspected in fatal crash in southwest Edmonton

EDMONTON – A 72-year-old is dead after his vehicle went off the road and struck a fence in southwest Edmonton Tuesday afternoon.

Police believe a medical episode is to blame for the crash, which happened just before 4 p.m. on 106 Street and 56 Avenue.

The man was taken to hospital, where he passed away.

There were no reports of other vehicles or pedestrians involved.

Motorists are advised to avoid 106 Street from 55 Avenue to 57 Avenue as police investigate the collision.
