Manitoba camper missing since Saturday afternoon

WINNIPEG – RCMP are searching for a camper who went missing in Nopiming Provincial Park on Saturday afternoon.

Christopher Cloutier, 24, was camping at Shoe Lake in Manitoba with three friends who last saw him at about 3 p.m. Saturday. The four were separated and while three returned to their camp, Cloutier did not.

He was reported missing just after noon on Sunday.

Police believe Cloutier, who was wearing white shorts when he was last seen, has food and supplies in a backpack, including jeans, a sweater and a hoodie.

Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship, Search and Rescue Manitoba, the Office of the Fire Commissioner and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Assoc. are all helping search for him by foot, boat and helicopter.

Cloutier is six-foot-one, about 165 pounds, with a medium built, brown hair and brown eyes.
