Man tasered, woman injured in northwest Regina

REGINA – One man is in custody and a woman is recovering from an apparent stab wound after an incident in northwest Regina Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to Bruce Place in the Normanview neighbourhood shortly before 3:00 p.m. after reports of a man in distress.

Officers arrived to find a man in the street who appeared to be intoxicated, speaking incoherently and behaving in a physically aggressive manner. He appeared to have blood on his face and hands. A taser was deployed in order to take him into custody safely.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a woman, who also appeared to be intoxicated, inside a nearby home who appeared to be suffering from a stab wound to the leg. Her injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Both the suspect and victim were taken to hospital to be treated.

29-year-old Dylan Pelletier is charged with aggravated assault, breach of probation and 32-year-old Louis Verkoczy is charged with breach of undertaking.
