CALGARY – Police have laid several charges against the driver involved in a serious crash on the QEII Highway.
It happened in the northbound lanes near Airdrie around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
RCMP say the driver of a Grey 2004 GMC Sierra pickup lost control, rolling into a ditch.
One passenger in the vehicle, a 49-year-old Airdrie man, was rushed to hospital in critical condition. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit at the Foothills Hospital.
Police have charged the driver, 49-year-old Timothy Gerald Willemsen, with several offences including impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, criminal negligence causing bodily harm and driving while disqualified.
He was arrested on Wednesday.
