WATCH: Winnipeg Police Service canine unit dog, officer rappel down building
WINNIPEG – The Easter Seals Drop Zone sees Winnipeggers rappel down the side of a downtown highrise as part of a fundraising effort for the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities.
Global Winnipeg live streamed the Drop Zone at 220 Portage Ave. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Morning News co-host Derek Taylor took the plunge live on Global TV shortly after 8:30 a.m.
A police canine unit officer and his dog also rappelled together down the building.

The Drop Zone is a public fundraiser that requires participants to raise at least $1,500 before they are allowed to rappel 200 feet down the 17-storey RBC building.
Morning News anchor Eva Kovacs took the plunge for the 2013 Drop Zone.
