RCMP search for man who stole police cruiser

CALGARY- RCMP are trying to track down a man who stole a police cruiser near Cochrane.

On Saturday evening, officers were conducting an impaired driving investigation north of the Stoney Casino when they arrested a man and put him in the back of the cruiser. The officers were dealing with numerous people and damaged vehicles, when the cruiser suddenly drove away.

Despite ground and aerial searches, the car has still not been found, though it’s believed to be somewhere on the Stoney First Nations Reserve. There were no weapons in it at the time.

RCMP are now looking for 25-year-old Lorenzo Anthony Bearspaw, who is wanted for theft of a motor vehicle, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and escape lawful custody.
