2 pedestrians killed in separate collisions overnight in Toronto

TORONTO – Police are investigating after two pedestrians were killed in separate collisions in Toronto overnight.

An elderly male was struck and killed on Dawes Road near Victoria Park late Sunday evening.

Police say the man was attempting to cross Dawes Road at Gower Street around 11 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle heading eastbound.

The victim, in his 60’s, was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

There’s no word yet if any charges will be laid against the driver.

Meanwhile a couple of hours later, a male pedestrian was also killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Queen Street East near Parliament just after 1:30 a.m.

The SUV ended up with its front bumper on the sidewalk.

Traffic services is investigating and there’s no word yet if the driver will face any charges.
