RCMP say the little girl had sustained life-threatening injuries consistent with child abuse. She was in the care of her adoptive parents.
The baby’s condition has since improved but police say it’s not clear how bad the long-term damage could be.
They are not releasing the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victim.
