Police find new evidence in disappearance of Catie Miller

HALIFAX – Police have recovered new evidence they believe to be connected to the disappearance of Catherine ‘Catie’ Miller, who was last seen July 15.

Catie’s mother, Terry Miller,  told Global News that Halifax Regional Police were given a cell phone from the Dartmouth Sportsplex on Tuesday, but would not confirm whether it belongs to Catie or how it is connected to the case.

The news came on the same day a candlelight vigil was held, to raise awareness about the case and to try to gather new information.

“The reason that we’ve been holding events like this is to keep the thing top of mind for people,” Catie’s father John Miller said to the hundreds of people who came to the vigil. “Hopefully it will spark a memory and hopefully somebody will phone the police or crime stoppers with something, because I feel every little bit will help.”

Catie Miller is described as 5’8″ and 130 pounds with brown shoulder-length hair that she often wears in a ponytail. She also has pierced ears and grey eyes, according to police.

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Catie, they are asked to contact police.
