YVR security screener enters guilty plea to eight counts of theft

A Vancouver International Airport (YVR) security screener Yuriy Ruvinskiy, who is in his 30s, entered a guilty plea to eight counts of theft under $5,000 in a Richmond court today.

The charges were laid following an investigation by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority and RCMP and refer to 26 separate incidents, which took place over a seven-day period from February to March 2014.

A pre-sentence report, which will contain information about the YVR screener and his case, has been ordered.

A sentencing date has not yet been determined.
