Purse snatched from elderly woman

KELOWNA–RCMP in Kelowna are looking for a purse snatcher.

Police say a 79 year old woman was walking in the 700 block of Badke road, coming  home from the grocery store shortly after 10 a.m. Monday morning when she was suddenly pushed to the ground by a man, who stole her purse.

A nearby resident saw the attack and called police.

The man fled on foot along the walkway towards Hollywood Road North with the purse containing the woman’s keys, credit cards and some cash.

The suspect is described as caucasian, between 20 and 25 years old, athletic, with short black hair.

He was wearing longer dark shorts and no shirt.

The woman did sustain minor injuries due to the fall.  She was taken to KGH for further assessment.

Police are looking for tips.
