Two shooting deaths in Chilliwack appear to be targeted: IHIT

Two people are dead after multiple shots were fired in Chilliwack this morning.

RCMP confirm they were called to the 46000-blk of Gore Avenue  just after 4 a.m., where they found three people shot.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in to assist in the investigation.

IHIT Sgt. Bari Emam said the shooting resulted in the deaths of two adults and a third person was injured.

While it is still too early in the investigation to determine motive, Emam said the incident appears to be targeted.

The names of the victims have not been released.

IHIT is asking anyone who was in the area between 3:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. on August 7, and may have witnessed something to contact their tipline (1-877-551-4448) or CrimeStoppers 1-800-222-8477.
