Grasshopper invasion in B.C.’s Interior

VANCOUVER – Grasshoppers have invaded a neighbourhood just outside Kelowna city limits.

It’s one of several areas in the Interior that have seen a huge spike in the pest’s numbers this summer.

Annoyed residents can do little to ward off the swarms at this point.

The best time to control grasshopper populations is in the spring when the insects are young and have yet to develop their wings.
