Girls charged with stabbing, robbing woman in Winnipeg’s North End

Winnipeg police arrested two girls for stabbing a 21-year-old woman during a robbery in the North End on Monday.

WINNIPEG – Two teens have been charged with stabbing a woman multiple times during a robbery in the North End on Monday evening.

A 21-year-old woman was confronted by two youth near Manitoba Avenue and Parr Street at about 9:45 p.m. Monday, Winnipeg police said in a news release.

They assaulted her and stabbed her multiple times before robbing her, police said. She was in stable condition on Tuesday morning.

Police were called after the robbers fled and with help from the canine unit, tracked two girls to the 700 block of Dufferin Avenue.

Police recovered a knife and the 21-year-old’s belongings when they apprehended the teens, they said.

A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old have been charged with aggravated assault and robbery and are being held at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
