Police arrest teenager after triple stabbing at Dartmouth park

HALIFAX — Halifax police are investigating a triple stabbing that occurred during a fight in Birch Cove Park in Dartmouth late Monday night.

Officers arrived at the park at 11:30 p.m. where they found two 18-year old men and one 19-year old man with stab wounds. The men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 16-year old male was identified as the suspect, but had fled the park before police arrived.

After searching the area, officers called in the K-9 unit to help.

They found and arrested the teen just after 3:00 a.m. in the 300 block of Portland Street.

Police are still investigating, but charges are expected to be laid on Tuesday.
