MONTREAL — Bonnie the giraffe at Quebec’s Parc Safari has given birth to a healthy baby girl.
This is the first baby giraffe born at the zoo in 23 years.
Four-year-old Bonnie gave birth to the baby at 2:28 p.m. on Sunday. According to the zoo, everything “went well.”
“It is now confirmed by our zoologist team, the newborn giraffe is a female!” the Parc Safari team noted on Facebook Sunday.
“A ‘tiny’ baby, only a few hours old! What an emotion-filled day!”
Parc Safari is asking for the public’s help to find a name for the baby giraffe.
