WATCH: First Nations Fashion Designer

An Okanagan First Nation’s Fashion Designer is about to have her dream come true on a New York City catwalk.

Jill Setah debuted her line of clothing last month at National Aboriginal Fashion Week in Saskatoon where she was chosen to attend New York Fashion Week.

Now, the 32-year-old mother of four is working hard to ensure her designs are runway ready in time for the September 5 event.

Setah incorporates First Nation’s inspired fabrics with classic cuts to create a fusion that appeals to a variety of women.

In order to be part of the fashion event, Setah needs to come up with about $5000 to cover the entry fee and travel expenses.

She says it’s the opportunity of a lifetime and she’s working hard to make it a reality.
