WINNIPEG – A man found suffering from injuries at the scene of an apartment fire in downtown Winnipeg was killed, police believe.
Emergency services responded to a fire alarm at the Holiday Towers in the 100 block of Hargrave Street at about 5:40 a.m. Saturday, a news release from the Winnipeg police says.
Firefighters quickly put out a small fire in one of the suites and found a man with upper-body injuries.
The man was taken in critical condition to hospital, where he later died, police said.
The fire caused about $10,000 damage to the building.
