Ironman begins with a 4 km swim, followed by 180 km cycle and finishing off with a 42 km marathon.
2,000 athletes competed in today’s event, supported by 2,300 volunteers. 12,000 spectators were in attendance.
Restaurants and pubs were packed, and businesses are embracing the event. The economic impact in Whistler is estimated at over $8 million per year.
