LONDON, Ont. – Police say a woman and her two young children are in critical condition after being hit by a car that crashed through the front doors of a busy Costco store in London, Ontario.
They say the incident injured a total of six people — including the driver of the car.
Witnesses say shoppers and store employees rushed to help those who had been mowed down by the red, four-door-sedan.
Tracy Carne was leaving the store just moments before the crash took place around 12 p-m and remembers hearing a loud revving sound before a “waterfall of glass” came down.
Costco employee Araam Wendy tells local radio station BlackBurnNews.com that there was shattered glass and blood everywhere.
He says he saw a four-year-old who was severely bleeding.
He also says he saw a nine- or 10-year-old girl who had been knocked out, along with an unconscious pregnant woman who was on the ground near her.
Police say an investigation is underway and charges are pending.
