CALGARY – One man is in police custody after a series of hit-and-runs in the southeast that damaged several vehicles on Tuesday.
It started just before 10:30 p.m., when a trailer became disconnected from a truck at the intersection of Memorial Drive and 36th Street S.E.
The truck sped off, driving erratically and hitting several cars along Memorial Drive.
The driver eventually exited his vehicle in the parking lot of a strip mall near Memorial Drive and 52nd Street S.E.
He later surrendered to police.
Officials say the driver suffered facial injuries and lost a lot of blood, eventually losing consciousness.
He was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, but has been upgraded to stable condition.
Nobody else was hurt.
