The third day of Israel’s ground offensive in the Gaza Strip has proven to be the deadliest day in the past two weeks of clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians.
Hundreds of panicked residents fled Gaza City’s Shijaiyah neighbourhood as Israeli troops backed by tanks and warplanes battled Hamas militants.
