Weather update Friday July 18th at 5pm

Currently the gusty winds in the area are not helping the wildfire situation.

Breezy conditions continue tonight and tomorrow.

As an upper trough settles over our region, we welcome seasonal temperatures (27C) this weekend.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

This trough will allow an onshore flow that will bring us some moisture, although most of the showers will fall in the Columbia, the Shuswap and near the mountains.

There is just a slight risk of showers this weekend for the Okanagan.

Widespread rain would help the wildfire situation, and most weather models are still pointing to a more significant weather system making its way inland next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Saturday’s High: 24 to 32C
Sunday’s High: 23 to 31C
