Special weather statement issued for most of Saskatchewan

SASKATOON – A special weather statement has been issued for most of Saskatchewan.

Environment Canada says smoke from forest fires burning in the Northwest Territories, British Columbia and Alberta is spreading across the province.

The agency says it will create hazy conditions on Thursday and into Friday morning.

Severe thunderstorms are also possible for western parts of the province and the northern grain belt later in the day.

EC has issued severe thunderstorm watches for most of central Saskatchewan including Saskatoon.
