2 people accused of robbing elderly couple selling kittens

TORONTO –Two people have been arrested and charged with several offences after an elderly couple were robbed recently while trying to sell their kitten.

Police allege Tara Heffering, 31, and Kevin Limkilde, 36, entered the elderly couple`s home at approximately 6 p.m. on July 7. The two suspects were responding to an ad the couple put up for some kittens.

But once inside the home, police allege Heffering asked to use the bathroom and while out of sight stole jewelry, cash and a purse.

Heffering and Limkilde have been charged with several offences including theft over $5,000. Heffering was also charged with heroin possession.

Limkilde was released with conditions, while Heffering is being held for a bail hearing.
