VANCOUVER – Ashcroft RCMP aren’t releasing many details about an investigation yesterday on the outskirts of that southern Interior community.

Constable Kris Clark says the heavy police presence was connected to the apparently unprovoked shooting of a cyclist taking part in a road race in May.

Fifty-nine-year-old Burnaby cyclist Craig Premack was shot in the arm near Spences Bridge as he took part in a 600 kilometre race through southern B-C.

Officers were searching along the highway near Spences Bridge yesterday but Clark couldn’t say if they have a suspect, or person if interest in the attack. (CFJC)
