Pemberton music festival is back after six years

One of the summer’s most anticipated music festivals is back in Pemberton today for the first time in six years.

The Pemberton music festival kicks off this evening at 5 p.m. with Ruckus Deluxe.

40,000 people attended the last event in July 2008, but organizers cancelled the festival in subsequent years because of what they say was a lengthy permit process with the agricultural commission.

An unrelated promoter has now pumped $18 million ¬†worth of infrastructure into the region for this year’s event.

25,000 people are expected to attended the five day festival being headlined by Outkast and Nine Inch Nails.
