UPDATE: 38-year-old Irinei Catalin Ghiorghita has been charged with one count of second degree murder.
The victim has been identified as 38 year old Andra Ghiorghita.
The suspect and victim were married and shared a child together who has been staying out of the country with family.
Ghiorghita will be attending court in Port Coquitlam Wednesday afternoon.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirms they are investigating the death of a Port Coquitlam woman.
Police have been on scene at a townhome on Davies Avenue throughout the morning.
The incident was initially reported as a shooting to RCMP. A large area is taped off surrounding the townhouse.
One man is in custody. IHIT says the woman’s death is not believed to be a random incident.
