Mattress fire forces evacuation of Calgary hotel

CALGARY- A downtown Calgary hotel had to be evacuated on Monday morning, after fire broke out in a suite.

It happened just before noon at Hotel Arts on 1 St. S.W., in one of the rooms on the second floor.

Fire crews rushed to the scene and found a mattress on fire. One man had to be taken to hospital by EMS.

So far there is no word on a cause or damage estimate.
