WestJet apologizes after incident on Saskatoon-bound flight

WestJet is apologizing for a problem that forced a Saskatoon-bound flight to turn around late Friday evening.

Flight 323 departed from Toronto but shortly after take off, the pilots noticed a warning light that suggested there might be a problem with the cabin pressurization system.

The plane returned to Toronto without incident.

WestJet Spokesman Robert Palmer says the pilots initiated a rapid descent and the oxygen masks were deployed as a precaution.

Passengers hugged family and friends after the plane landed safely. Some described the incident as “terrifying.”

No one was hurt and WestJet continues to investigate the incident.
