VANCOUVER – Two people are facing charges in connection with an assault of an RCMP officer in the Kamloops area over the weekend.
The officer had pulled over a pick-up truck near Pritchard late Saturday afternoon in a drunk driving investigation. Two of the three people in the truck then allegedly assaulted the Mountie.

A passing driver stopped and called for help.
The officer was treated in hospital and released.
The suspects were tracked down and arrested later that night.
