VERNON — The boating accident that killed a 14-year-old Vernon boy is now under the RCMP’s microscope.
“The investigation is to thoroughly look into the events that led to the tragic end of the young man’s life and determine if any charges are to be laid in the case and to provide answers for his family,” says Vernon RCMP spokesperson, Gord Molendyk,
The victim has been identified by family as Miles Wohlford, 14.
The accident happened on June 28th, when he fell off an innertube being pulled by a boat and was then struck by the boat’s propeller.
After fighting for his life for nearly a week in hospital Wohlford passed away Saturday evening.
In losing his life, he saved at least a half dozen others, by donating his organs.
