One person dies after head on collision west of Edmonton

EDMONTON – The RCMP was on scene at a fatal collision west of Edmonton Monday morning.

A driver died at the scene after two vehicles collided head on at around 6:30 a.m.

The driver of the second vehicle was pulled from his vehicle by off duty firefighters from the Stony Plain Fire Department. He was taken to an Edmonton hospital by Stars Air Ambulance. The extent of his injuries is not known.

No one else was involved in the collision.

The crashed happened on Highway 770 at Township 512.

Police have not identified a cause and will not release the name of the victim until family members have been notified.
