TORONTO – Environment Canada has ended a special weather statement for Toronto and the GTA following strong thunderstorms overnight Sunday night into Monday.

The system came in from Michigan and crossed Lake Huron around midnight.
Environment Canada said a thunderstorm watch is still in effect for part of southern Ontario.
A watch is issued when conditions are favourable for severe weather. A warning is when hazardous weather is imminent or occurring.
