Watch: François Collard from the Montreal police on possible abduction attempt
MONTREAL – Montreal police are investigating reports of a man’s questionable behaviour in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
According to police, the investigation was launched after receiving a complaint from the parents of a six-year-old girl.
The parents contacted police after a man allegedly approached the child near Elm Park at around 10:45 a.m. on June 24. The parents told police that he invited her to come into his car, but she refused and ran to her parents.
François Collard, a spokesperson for the Montreal police, told Global News that police are not releasing a description of the man or the vehicle, as investigators don’t want to bias or taint witness statements.
He also confirmed that there have been no other reports of a similar nature.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or other suspicious behaviour on June 24 are asked to contact police.
Authorities are also asking parents to remain vigilant and to report any questionable conduct by calling Info-Crime Montreal at 514 393-1133 or dialling 9-1-1.
