19th suspicious fire in Vernon in last few weeks

Another suspicious fire early this morning in Vernon.

Just before 1 a.m. the Vernon Fire department responded to a fire call in the 47 hundred block of 27 Street.

A pile of tires had been set on fire at back of Peter’s Tirecraft store.

Flames were higher than the roof of the nearby buildings and the fire was emitting a thick plume of black smoke.

Luckily the tires were far enough away from any nearby structures.

This is the 19^th suspicious fire in Vernon in the past few weeks.

Vernon Fire department and RCMP are investigating this latest fire.
