Calgary driver going 141 km/h blows over twice the legal limit

CALGARY- Charges are pending, after RCMP pulled over an excessive speeder, who was also allegedly impaired.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, a member of the Airdrie unit noticed a white GMC Terrain travelling at speeds of up to 141 km/h, in an area where the posted limit is 60 km/h.

After stopping the vehicle near Veterans Blvd. east of the QEII, the 43-year-old male driver from Calgary was arrested. A breath sample was taken, and showed he allegedly had a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.

Charges are now pending.
