TORONTO – A man being investigated for 41 murders in Jamaica has been arrested in Ajax.

Witney Hutchinson, 28, a former police officer from Kingston, Jamaica, was arrested in Ajax Friday after police observed him getting out of a car.

He’s now awaiting extradition to Jamaica to stand trial for murder.

He’s wanted for one murder in his native country but is under investigation by Jamaican authorities for 40 others.

Hutchinson was allegedly part of a “Jamaican death squad” formed by several Kingston police officers.

Police say he fled Jamaica in after the murder of Sylvester Gallimore and legally entered Canada to visit family.
