VANCOUVER, B.C. — The Surrey RCMP are appealing to the public for information, after a body was discovered in the Newton area this morning.
At around 6:30 a.m. authorities were called to the scene near Newton Elementary, at 134 St. and 81 Ave. A man was found by a passerby, lying at the side of the road. Paramedics were unable to revive him.
“There was no obvious cause of death,” Insp. Tim Shields told Global News. He said that it does not appear foul play was involved, but the police are investigating all possible causes of the man’s demise. No one interviewed by RCMP in the surrounding area heard anything overnight.
“What we’re looking for at this point is anyone who would know what happened. How did this man get there? What were the events that took place last night that led him to possibly sitting down and becoming sick to the point he passed away from whatever he was suffering from,” said Shields.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP.
