Drugs and speed considered possible factors in serious collision

Two people are rushed to hospital in life threatening condition after crashing into a light pole on 16 Ave NW.

Police believe drugs and speed may have contributed to a serious collision that sent two people to hospital in life threatening condition.

The driver of a 2005 Nissan Altima was travelling westbound on 16th Avenue at 10th Street NW, when it slammed into a light pole around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

The man and woman inside the vehicle were rushed to Foothills Hospital.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
