CALGARY – What better way to celebrate the Calgary Stampede than with a Caesar?
The iconic Canadian drink was actually invented in Calgary at the Owl’s Nest bar in 1969.
Global Calgary was joined by author Clint Pattemore on Friday, who gave us his recipe for the Stampede Caesar
How to make a Stampede Caesar
- 1 oz Alberta Premium Rye Whiskey
- 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 2 dashes hot sauce
- 3 pinches steak spice
- 3 grinds fresh cracked salt and black pepper
- 1 oz beef stock
- 3 oz Mott’s Clamato Cocktail
Rim a highball glass with citrus and fresh cracked salt and black pepper with steak spice.
Fill a glass to the top with ice.
Add ingredients in the order listed.
Stir well to mix the cocktail and garnish with a grilled Alberta flank steak on a skewer.
