Toronto city councillor Doug Ford ignited a feud with Canadian literary icon Margaret Atwood when he told a radio host his ward had more public libraries than Tim Horton’s coffee shops.
The statement stirred emotion from many involved in Canada’s arts community, including Atwood, who said Ford’s comments tarnish Toronto’s reputation as a cultural centre.
