VERNON — A Vernon family recently got an unexpected visit from a large wild animal.
A moose was found the Powell’s swimming pool.
“I’ve never seen a moose and the fact it was in a suburban area was shocking,” says Cassia Powell.

The family isn’t sure how the moose ended up in their pool, or what he was even doing in the city.
It seems he jumped over a fence and was startled by a four foot drop.
The family’s teenage daughter started capturing the moose trying frantically to get out of the pool — relieved to see it free himself.
The moose walked around the yard for a while, then hopped over a six foot fence and hasn’t been seen since.
