SIX ROADS, N.B. – A couple from Quebec died Wednesday after their car collided with a tractor trailer in northeastern New Brunswick.
An RCMP spokesman says a 59-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a 61-year-old man who was driving the vehicle died later in hospital.
Sgt. Marc Beaupre says the crash occurred near Six Roads, in the Tracadie-Sheila area, at the intersection of Pallot Road and Route 11.
He says the preliminary investigation indicates the car was turning onto the highway when it was struck by the oncoming truck.
Beaupre says the names of the couple aren’t being released pending notification of relatives.
He says the couple from Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Que., were believed to be on vacation when the crash occurred.
