File/Global News

INGONISH, N.S. – A man and woman from Nova Scotia will appear in Ingonish provincial court in September on charges related to weapons and drug production.

The two were arrested earlier this week after RCMP executed a search warrant at a home in St. Margaret’s Village.

Police say they seized three shotguns, three rifles and a set of brass knuckles.

They also found marijuana and marijuana plants.

A 22-year-old man from St. Margaret’s Village is charged with production and possession of marijuana, unsafe storage of a prohibited weapon and 20 other firearm-related charges.

Police say a 19-year-old woman from the area is charged with production of marijuana and weapons-related offences.

They’ve been released from custody until a court appearance scheduled for Sept. 11.
