KELOWNA, B.C. – Venger the 6-year-old black cat is purring in the hands of his owner, once again, after being reunited following an 18 month adventure.
Beau Powers’ cat went missing from his home near Gordon Drive and Clement Avenue in January of 2013.
Every time Powers saw a black cat on the street, he would stop and call Venger’s name, to no avail.
The cat-lover resigned to his pet being lost, struck by a car or even eaten by a coyote.
He was left heartsick.
Until two days ago.
That’s when a woman who lives a few kilometres away connected an ear tattoo in a cat she found outside her home to records kept by the Vancouver SPCA.
Venger and Powers were reunited, thanks to her sleuthing.
Powers vows to keep Venger indoors to prevent any further separation.
