PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Overcapacity at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert is impacting the emergency department at the northern Saskatchewan city.
Inpatient units have been at 10 per cent over capacity for the last couple of days and officials with the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region say that has left the emergency department very busy.
Staff will be responding to patients with life-threatening or serious health concerns first.
Health region officials say anyone with a non-urgent injury or illness can expect to wait more than two hours before being treated.
Those patients are being advised that they may wish to contact their family doctor or go to a walk-in clinic instead for treatment.
