SASKATOON – The Saskatoon police air support unit lent a hand to the auto task force in nabbing the suspect in two vehicle thefts and break-ins to businesses.

Police were alerted to the break-ins to several businesses at a complex in the 700-block of 45th Street East on June 1. One of the items taken was a white cube truck.

During the investigation by the stolen auto task force, the air support unit spotted the cube truck west of the city.

The suspect was taken into custody at the location and police recovered a second stolen vehicle along with the cube truck which had several stolen cases of beer inside.

A 33-year-old has been charged with two counts of theft over $5,000, two counts of break and enter and numerous breaches of court conditions.

He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Friday.
