200 taxis around Vancouver now have new technology that will hopefully make them safer.
Taxis from four different cab companies are now equipped with crash-avoidance technology and black boxes that track the drivers’ actions.

If a driver follows too closely, or changes lanes without signaling, a warning bell sounds and the black box records it. A message is then sent back to the taxi company headquarters.
The taxi companies are hoping the technology will save money by lowering insurance and accident costs.
