All schools are open today, but there is still no end in sight in the standoff between B.C. teachers and the government.
There will be more rotating strikes next week, and a Labour Relations Board ruling on whether the employer can cut teachers’ wages by 10 per cent is expected on Wednesday.
Every week of the rotating strikes saves the government $12 million. The 10 per cent wage mandated by the government on days of job action saves an additional $1.2 million per day.
A secondary school lockout will be in effect for June 25 and 26 with a general lockout happening on June 27.
